Our SEN Team is led by Miss Crowther who is our SEND co-ordinator. Miss Crowther works across both sites to provide staff, parents and professionals with support and guidance to ensure all children access learning and the make good progress in their learning despite the challenges that they face on a day-to-day basis. Children who have additional needs are monitored closely on our SEN class registers. This is reviewed termly, and parents/carers are always kept informed. Mrs Parr and Mrs Main also work closely with Miss Crowther to provide support for children who find learning challenging and in particular reading and writing. As a school we are fortune to have these skilled members of staff to work with children on a 1:1 basis to unpick areas of difficulty and implement strategies and resources to overcome these barriers to learning.
Children who have significant and complex needs may require and Education Health and Care Assessment. The evidence for this application is collated over time and submitted to the local authority who will consider whether additional funding needs to be allocated to provide children with more support.
